PCD Framework

Following the concept of regenerative design, we have developed a framework for designers, founders, and investors to gain a holistic understanding of a project's potential impact. This empowers them to make informed choices that contribute to a healthier society, a thriving planet, and a sustainable future.

What is the PCD Framework?

This framework is a practical tool to assess the impact of projects and products. It adapts seven key permaculture principles to assess the ethical implications of design choices across the three axes of a business initiative: Planet, People, and Profit.

After a careful consideration of the guiding principles of permaculture, we took the most relevant ones for the creation and design of a business, organised in a double axis grid of Themes and Pillars:

Themes

  • Integrate rather than segregate
  • Patterns & Modules
  • Yield
  • Use and respond to change
  • Self-Regulation
  • Unusable waste
  • Small & Slow

Pillars

  • Planet
  • People
  • Profit
